The Liturgy of the Soil: A Permaculture Rite for the Spring Equinox

Posted on March 6, 2026March 6, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

The Spring Equinox is often treated as a celebration of outward growth—the first green shoots, the return of the sun, and the frantic burst of planting energy. But for the modern Pagan, the Equinox is also a moment of perfect equilibrium: the exact threshold where light and dark hold hands…

The Theft of Presence: Why We’re Hiding from Our Own Lives

Posted on March 4, 2026March 4, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

We’ve all done the “dodge.” You’re at a birthday party, a family reunion, or just a backyard barbecue, and the camera comes out. Your stomach does that familiar, frantic flip. You instinctively take a step back, offer to be the one taking the picture, or make a joke about how “you’re not…

The Pulse of the Planet: Finding Strength in Gaia’s Awakening

Posted on February 27, 2026February 27, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

Late February in the Northern Hemisphere is a funny, liminal time. It’s that awkward transition where we are technically still in the grip of winter, but the light has subtly shifted. The mornings feel just a touch more insistent, and there’s a quiet, frantic energy bubbling under the frozen soil….

Posted on February 27, 2026February 27, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

In the world of rootwork and candle magic, we often talk about intent. But sometimes, life gets busy. Sometimes you need a little extra “oomph” to get the gears moving. That is exactly where our fixed candles come in. If you’ve ever wondered why so many experienced practitioners swear by…

The Grace of Letting Go: How Forgiveness Transforms After 60

Posted on February 25, 2026February 25, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

In our younger years, we often wear our grudges like armor. We view forgiveness as a transaction—something to be earned, negotiated, or withheld to maintain power. But as we step into the “Goddess” era of our 60s and 70s, the weight of that armor starts to feel unnecessary. Forgiveness isn’t…

The Art of the Ember: A Guide to Loose Incense

Posted on February 20, 2026February 20, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

While sticks and cones are the convenience snacks of the aromatic world, loose incense is the gourmet meal. It’s raw, intentional, and deeply rooted in ancient tradition. If you’ve stepped into a metaphysical shop and felt intimidated by the jars of resins, barks, and dried petals, fear not. Mastering the charcoal disk…

The Fragile Throne: Why Dental Care Feels Stuck in the Stone Age

Posted on February 18, 2026February 18, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

There is a cruel irony in being a “Goddess” while feeling like your mouth is made of fine, cracked porcelain. We spend so much time worshipping our skin, our muscles, and our minds, but the teeth? They are the silent, brittle sentinels of our health—and frankly, they’re failing many of…

From Polarity to Pluralism: The Evolution of Inclusive Paganism

Posted on February 13, 2026February 13, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

The landscape of modern Paganism has shifted dramatically over the last fifty years. What began in the mid-20th century as a movement deeply rooted in the “divine gender binary” has blossomed into a diverse, decentralized spiritual umbrella that increasingly prioritizes radical inclusivity. To read the entire article, jump to the…

The Silent Threshold: Honoring the Unmarked “Lasts” of a Life

Posted on February 11, 2026February 11, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

There is a specific kind of ghost that haunts the hallways of a woman’s life. It isn’t the ghost of a person, but the ghost of a moment—a threshold we crossed without ever realizing the door had locked behind us. To be clear, I fully acknowledge that men are haunted…

While traditional pews sit increasingly empty, the forest paths, digital altars, and moonlit circles are seeing a surge of new footprints. As we stand at the crossroads of 2026, the…

The Silent Hunger: My 24/7 Home Negotiation

Posted on February 4, 2026February 4, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

The house is quiet, save for the hum of my computer and the soft crackle of a candle on my altar. My husband is in the other room, likely settled into a book or a show, completely unaware that a mile-wide war is being waged just twenty feet away in…

Imbolc: Because Nature Needs a Caffeine Kick (and So Do You)

Posted on January 30, 2026January 30, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

By the time February 1st rolls around, most of us are essentially sentient blankets. We’ve spent the last six weeks vibrating at the frequency of a slow-cooker, surviving on leftover Yule chocolate and the desperate hope that the sun wasn’t just a fever dream we all had last July. Enter…

The Glow of Intention: Setting the Lights

Posted on January 30, 2026January 30, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

In the world of folk magic and rootwork, few practices are as foundational as “setting the lights.” At its simplest, it is the act of praying over a candle and lighting it with a specific petition in mind. But as any seasoned practitioner will tell you, a candle is rarely just a…

The Great Quickening: Mapping the Pendulum Swing of the Craft (1986–2026)

Posted on January 24, 2026January 24, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

40 Years – Gone in the blink of an eye. To flip through the yellowed, newsprint pages of a 1980s Green Egg is to touch a different dimension. In those days, the ink came off on your fingers, and the ideas—bold, radical, and often dangerously counter-cultural—felt like they could set…

The Art of Tangible Magic

Posted on January 22, 2026January 22, 2026 By Katrina Rasbold

In a world that is becoming increasingly digital, there is something profoundly radical about physical magic. While visualization and intent are the engines of any spell, having a physical “battery” for your work can make the difference between a fleeting thought and a manifested reality. This week, we’re looking at two of…

Mentorship With Katrina on Patreon

I came to witchcraft as a young seeker with a head full of questions and a heart full of devotion. Four decades later, I’m still learning, still listening, and still helping others find their own way through the mysteries. I write books, teach classes, set lights, and hold space for people who want real-world magic that fits a real-world life.

I’ve been walking an intentional magical path for more than forty years. My practice is rooted in Eclectic Wicca, Appalachian folk magic, and devotional work with the Powers that walk the crossroads. Over the years, that foundation has braided together with my love of storytelling, community building, and practical spiritual care.

I started like many of us do: with questions no one around me seemed to be asking out loud. I studied, listened, watched, and practiced. I learned from elders, from books, from spirit, and from the land itself. Magic, for me, is not about escaping life. It’s about engaging with it more fully—tending to the unseen threads that weave through our griefs, our joys, our choices, and our transformations.
