Two weeks ago, I will admit that I gave into ego. A friend of mine suggested that my prices for card readings were too low and not in keeping with the current market. I reflected on the fact that we have not raised any of our prices on the website since 2018 and wondered if I might be devaluing what I do. Because I do that sometimes.
I am not given to fits of ego as a rule, but now and then, it feels nice to indulge. After conferring with another friend whose opinion I trust, I raised the prices on my readings.
A week or so later, another friend approached me rather hesitantly and suggested that maybe this was not the best time to raise prices when people are struggling to such a degree. I deeply appreciated her candor and willingness to broach what could have been a difficult conversation.
