We need to talk about the absolute lie that is the phrase, “You should only eat when you’re hungry.”
If humans only ate when our biological engines required fuel, the snack food aisle would not be a multi-billion-dollar psychological wonderland. The truth is, a large portion of our relationship with food has absolutely nothing to do with an empty stomach. Sometimes, your stomach is perfectly content, your macros are met, and your nutritional needs are entirely satisfied.
But your mouth is bored. And a bored mouth is a dangerous thing.
