Boring, Boring, Boring

It has been such a long time since I was able to update my journal.  I really miss it, but life is changing very soon and I can feel it coming back.  I never expected the home schooling to take up so much of my time every day and on the days when I’m not, I am busy trying to get the things done I can’t do while home schooling.   Nathan has gotten so much better with his work.  He’s more independent now (most of the time) and I am confident that he will do fine when he goes to middle school in August.  He will have 4 months of probation and all he has to do is stay out of trouble for that amount of time.  The first few months of school are typically honeymoon phase anyway, so he should be OK.  We’re at least willing to give it a try.

After this week, we have only 2 weeks of school left.  The assignments are winding down and so we have fewer hours in the day that we are working.  It’s great to see him confidently take hold of the assignments and have a good grasp of what to do.  We finished social studies last week and science this week.  Math goes next week and I believe this week is the last reading assignment.  It’s closing down fast.  It went by fast too.

When I am so far between journal entries, it is hard to know what to include and what to just let fall by the wayside.  I have tendonitis in my thumb.  Eric bought a brace for me and that helps a lot.

We got around 5″ of snow last night and had snow last week as well.  It’s pretty much gone now and every time, I hope it’s our last one.  We’re supposed to get rain on Tuesday of next week, so we’ll see if it get cold enough to turn to snow.  In the interim, it’s in the 70′s starting Thursday.

Delena is all signed up for her college classes in the Fall.  She has to tailor hers to Eric’s since she can’t get her license until November.  They are even signed up for the same English class.

On April 30, I got a sudden and very unexpected urge to get back into the fitness game after taking several months off and making my way backwards on the numbers.  I started a 60 Day Fitness Boot Camp and I’m documenting it here.  No sense repeating it since it’s laid out there.  I’m on a restricted diet and exercising every day for 60 days.  At that time, I will begin the God Made/Man Made diet.  For 2-3 days (I’ll set the schedule at that time), you eat only God Made foods (lean meats, whole wheat breads, fresh fruits and veggies, God Made starchs like potatoes and corn) and then on the next day, you can have Man Made foods in moderation so that you aren’t feeling completely deprived.  For my 60 days, I’m on all God Made foods and staying between 1000-1500 calories.  I started at 1200-1500, but my natural level seems to gravitate toward 1000 on most days.  The variation of calories keeps my metabolism awake and aware rather than falling into a lull.

Enough of that.  People who are interested in the process can go to the site.

Of course, eating for comfort has its advantages and one of them is that you stuff down a lot of feelings.  When you are restricting your food intake and not eating to anesthesize yourself, all of those feelings start to free-float to the surface and since you don’t have your coping tools, you have to deal with them.  I had a melt down a few nights ago and I feel better now.  That’s on the 60 day site as well under an entry about “Emotions.”

The 60 Day Challenge, home school, cleaning house, site work and snow.  That’s about all I’m about these days.  I’m more boring than usual.  :)

I promise to wake up for Spring.
